Nalanda University is a postgraduate, research-intensive residential international university established by an Act of Parliament and functions under the aegis of MEA, GOI, as an "Institution of National Importance."

Nalanda University is organizing the International Winter School from 3-9 March 2025. The theme of the Winter School is “Philosophy of Everyday Life”. This program is designed to critically explore the ordinary experiences, habits, and activities that shape our daily lives, encouraging thoughtful reflection on their deeper meanings and implications. The course aims to bridge the gap between abstract philosophical ideas and the practical realities of lived experience, fostering a deeper understanding of how individuals navigate and assign meaning to the seemingly commonplace.

About the Program:
This interdisciplinary program integrates insights from Indian philosophy, art, and literature to encourage mindfulness, sustainability, and personal growth. It seeks to inspire a more meaningful existence by addressing contemporary challenges and emphasizing the connection between philosophical inquiry and lived experience.

Objective:
The primary goal is to uncover the profound philosophical significance of everyday life through critical thinking, inquiry, and reflection. The program will emphasize mindfulness, sustainability, and personal development.

Registration Fee:
INR 10,000 (150 USD)
INR 3,000 (for NU Master’s and PhD Students)
 
Food & Accommodation:
Food and lodging will be provided to all participants throughout the program. Participants will also enjoy staying in a 455-acre serene campus at the foothills of Rajgir, offering a tranquil environment for learning and reflection.

Eminent Scholars:
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with eminent scholars during the sessions, gaining valuable insights and perspectives on the topics discussed.
